‘Propeller Plant’ is the common name of Crassula falcata. The characteristic feature of the succulent is the sickle or propeller-shaped leaves; hence the name Propeller plant. The unbranched succulent belongs to the Crassulaceae family and has its origin in South Africa. It grows as a shrub, often reaching the height of 23 cm to 25 cm. These summer-dormant species grow well in partial sun exposure and light shade.

Growth Rate

Propeller succulents have a medium growth rate.  

Flowering

The blooming season begins in June and lasts till August. Once fully bloomed, the orange-red bright colored flowers easily last up to a month.

Watering and Feeding

The Propeller plant requires regular watering throughout the year except for the winter months. Also, it needs to be fed a balanced liquid fertilizer during the blooming season – June to August.

Soil

Crassula falcata grows healthily in well-drained soil. Use the standard potting mix for cacti.

Hardiness

The hardiness zone for the Crassula falcata is 9b to 11b. These plants need protection from frost and must be planted indoors.

Light

For the best growth, this succulent shall be exposed to partial sun to light shade. 

Propagation

Propeller succulent propagates from cuttings of stem or leaf that need to be planted during the spring or the summer season.

To prevent plants from freezing while in transit, orders placed for areas with extreme severe freezing temperatures will be held for shipment until it is safe to ship.

Plants that are in 3.5" pots and smaller will be shipped in its pot to prevent any damage to the roots. Any plant that is larger than a 3.5" pot WILL NOT come with a pot as it will be shipped bare root.

Depending on the species and season, you will receive a very similar plant to the one in the picture. It may or may not be blooming at the time of your purchase.
