Cereus peruvianus cactus, a native to South America, is a vertically growing erect columnar plant. The common names of this cactus are Apple Cactus or Night Blooming Cereus. Belonging to the Cactaceae Family, the cactus reaches a height of 30 ft. in the open or its native region. It is characterized by a green-grayish stem typical of cacti with brown spines on the edge of the stems. In indoor settings, the Peruvian cactus apple grows to about 6 to 8 feet with a fast growth rate. In summer, white flowers appear that bloom at night and close in the morning. Besides, the Cereus peruvianus flower is short-lived. The winter-dormant ​​Apple Cactus plant grows well in bright direct sun or shade, but it is not frost-hardy.
