Dyckia platyphylla is a very attractive plant that grows in clusters with individual plants up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall, with rosettes up to 1 foot (30 cm) wide. The leaves are short, wide, glossy, deep green and blush bronze to even purple in full sun and are covered in silvery scales beneath and attractive whitish teeth along the margins. In spring to summer can appear the attractive up to 3 foot (90 cm) tall stalks of yellow-orange flowers.
