Ferocactus covillei, commonly known as ‘Coville's barrel cactus’, belongs to the Cactaceae family. The light green-colored glaucous reaches the diameter of 60-100 cm and height of 2-2.5 m. This winter-dormant plant has 15 to 30 ribs and is the longest spine cactus species. A native of Mexico, Ferocactus covillei’s height reaches up to 8 feet.

Beautiful bright yellow color flowers bloom in the late spring season.

Ferocactus covillei needs water during the aestival growth cycle. During this time, it needs plenty of water.
