Also known as the monstrose apple cactus, it is a cactus with a branching, treelike form. This cactus has irregularly ribbed gray to green stems that can grow up to 15' tall, large night-blooming white flowers and edible orange fruits with white flesh.

Sun exposure: Full sun
Origin: Probably West Indies and or Venezuela, but cultivated throughout Central and South America
Growth habits: Tree-like cactus, up to 33' tall (10 m); segmented stems, 4 to 8" in
diameter (10 to 20 cm); 9 or 10 rounded ribs; very variable supination
Propagation: Cuttings in summer
