Parodia schumanniana

The Parodia schumanniana is a lovely and entertaining kind of cactus that has several bulbous offshoots with yellow tops and is the newly accepted name of Notocactus schumannianus v. brevispinus. It blooms with stunning yellow flowers. The plant's crown produces large yellow blossoms in the summer, which are followed by rounded green fruits.

This species is indigenous to Brazil, northeastern Argentina, and southern Paraguay. It flourishes in open areas of deciduous forests on the sloping surfaces of granite rocks at elevations of 300 and 700m. The schumanniana can reach heights of up to 6 feet, despite its tiny initial size. Parodia cacti are distinct from other cacti in that they prefer brilliant indirect light over direct light to grow.

Also, compared to other cactus varieties, they are more water-tolerant, so you don't need to wait until the soil is fully dry before watering. Provide this cactus a period of cold and dry weather throughout the winter to promote blooming, then resume regular care in the spring.
