Haworthia Fasciata is a genus of succulent plants with its origin in South Africa. This summer-dormant plant forms rosettes of attractive dark green leaves. The common name of this succulent is “Zebra Plant” and it belongs to the family Asphodelaceae. Haworthias grow to be around 4 to 8 inches in height and are suitable for indoor growing.

Growth Rate

Haworthia Fasciata is a beautiful slow-growing houseplant. It is very easy to grow and highly unusual.

Flowering

These plants have small white and orange flowers. They grow in the summer season.

Watering

This succulent plant is low maintenance and requires little water. Haworthias should be watered only when the soil becomes dry. Make sure to not let the plant sit in water.

Soil

Zebra Fasciata is advised to grow best in a cactus potting mix. This succulent needs to be repotted every two years into a new blend. 

Hardiness

Haworthia Fasciata belongs to the hardiness zone of 10a to 11b. It is proven to be an ideal indoor plant in winter and needs to be placed in bright light with ample airflow. This plant is not frost tolerant and cannot survive in temperatures less than 30° F (-1.1° C).

Light

Haworthias require full sun to partial shade. They enjoy bright light, but not direct sunlight.

Propagation

Zebra succulent plants can be propagated from stem cuttings or offsets.
