Also commonly known as Woolly areoles, the plant has its surface covered with wool-like areoles and small black spines. The Ming Thing cactus flower is large and characterized by a funnel shape that is white in color with purple hues. The blooming season is spring to early summer. The winter-dormant cactus is a native of Bolivia and Argentina and is not frost-hardy. It is a slow-growing cactus requiring full sun to partial shade.
