Echeveria Neon Breakers goes by the common name “Hen and Chicks”. It forms rosettes and has wavy edges. Known for the bell-shaped flowers, this plant has its origin in Echeveria Shaviana and belongs to the family of Crassulaceae. Echeveria Neon Breakers succulent offers a dormancy of winters and can grow up to a height of about 3 inches. 

Growth Rate 

This houseplant has a fast growth rate and matures comparatively more easily and naturally as compared to other plants of the same species.


Echeveria Neon Breakers is known for its purple-colored flowers that bloom between the season of late summer and early fall. 

Watering and Feeding 

Water the plant when you feel the top of the soil is drying out. It grows well without feeding, but a diluted fertilizer can be used if needed.


Well-drained soil is ideal. Since this succulent is grown in high-altitude areas, ensure that its roots do not get waterlogged.


Hen and Chicks plants grow best in winters, keeping in mind their frost tolerance of -1.1° C (30.02° F). The plant belongs to the hardiness zone of 11 to 12.


4-6 hours of full sun exposure is ideal. If you are growing this variety indoors, use a grow light or put it next to an east-facing window.


This attractive succulent can be propagated by cutting a leaf and separately placing it in a cacti mix. Make sure you cover the dish till the time a new plant sprouts.
