Having its origin in Northeastern Mexico, Mammillaria candida is one of the most elegant cacti in the Cactaceae family. This winter-dormant plant includes more than 350 species and reaches up to 30 cm in height. Because of its beautiful round shape, it is commonly known as “Snowball Cactus”.
Mammillaria candida grows fast with minimal care.
The Yellow-colored flowers with pink veins bloom on the top of the crown during the spring season.
Water and Feeding/Fertilizer
These cacti need watering during their growing season. However, during their dormancy in winters, there is no need to water. Snowball cactus does not need any fertilizer or pruning.
This variety of Mammillaria prefers its soil to be a mixture of leaf and coarse sand in the correct proportion.
