Notocactus buiningii is one of the most distinctive Notocacti with a unique bright emerald green body, with many sharp ribs and large yellow flowers that open during the day and close at night .This cactus is a pretty easy plant to cultivate. It is good to keep moderately cool, and can also tolerate a light frost.

Recommended temperature zone: USDA: 9b-11

Frost tolerance: Only light frost

Sun exposure: Light shade

Origin: Southern Brazil, northern Uruguay

Growth habits: Solitary, flattened cactus, 3" tall (8 cm), 5" in diameter (12.5 cm)

Watering needs: Regular water in summer. Keep rather dry in winter, rot easily if the substrate is wet and cold, tends to lose its roots in winter.
