Opuntia Microdasys goes by the common name “Angel's-Wings” or “Bunny Ears". This succulent has an oval to round shape, with flattened small pads. The plant originates in Mexico and belongs to the family of Cactaceae. Bunny Ears are dormant during the winter period and can grow up to a height between 2 to 3 feet.

Growth Rate

Even though Opuntia Microdasys is a slow-growing plant, its ability to withstand extreme conditions makes it highly preferred.

Flowering

Opuntia Microdasys grows wide creamy yellow flowers with a combination of globular purple fruits. It blooms in the summer season.

Watering and Feeding

Water only when the soil is completely dry and sticks to a time frame of about two weeks. In winter, decrease the watering frequency. Even though feeding the plant is not necessary, you can feed it with a liquid fertilizer every month.

Soil

Be sure to use a potting mix that drains well. To avoid excess humidity, make sure that the pot you are using has a few holes. The soil mix should make the succulent feel warm and dry.
