Oreocereus Trollii, belonging to the Cactaceae family, is commonly known as ‘Borzicactus’ or the ‘Old Man of the Mountain’. The slow-growing succulent has its origin in Argentina and is a native of high altitudes on arid mountains. This shrubby columnar cactus is enveloped by fine white hair that protects it naturally from the night frost and the sun in the morning. To multiply and grow up to a height of 3 feet, the winter-dormant Brozicactus requires full sun exposure.

Growth Rate

Oreocereus trollii cacti are characterized by a slow growth rate.

Flowering

The flowers of this cactus bloom in pink or violet-red colors during late spring or early summer.

Watering and Feeding

I love my new oreocereus trolli!

This is the second oreocereus trolli I have purchased from Planet Desert. It comes packaged very safely and it's easy to transplant into a pot. It's a beauty and very easy to take care of. My first oreocereus trolli has thrived on my sunny balcony and has much more white fuzz. I'm sure my second one will do well too. I'm so happy with my purchase from Planet Desert!

Love, love, love it!

Had one for many, many years but, this year I broke my ankle and was unable to really do any gardening until recently. Well I forgot to get it out from under my porch and it didn't get any sun and overwatered it. Dead, and found one again. Will keep this one healthy so I can grow with this old guy.
