Sedum Rubrotinctum ‘Aurora’ is a wonderful houseplant with its origin in Mexico. This succulent grows up to 15 cm in height. The pink leaves of the plant are jellybean-shaped which is why it has a common name “Pink Jelly Bean”. Sedum Rubrotinctum ‘Aurora’ from the Crassulaceae family needs little care to grow.

Flowering

These succulents bloom in the mid-spring in beautiful bright yellow colors with a reddish tinge.

Watering

This low-growing houseplant needs to be watered only when the soil feels dry. Water more in summers than in winters. Sedum Rubrotinctum ‘Aurora’ doesn’t survive for long if overwatered. 

Soil

A well-draining soil works best for Pink Jelly Beans succulent. You can use a mixture of cactus potting mix & perlite for improved drainage. To avoid root rot, make sure to not let the soil remain wet for too long.

Hardiness

This plant is hardy in zones 9a to 11b. It is sensitive to frost. So, if you live in areas with freezing temperatures of 30º F (-1.1º C), it is better to plant this variety indoors.

Light

Pink Jelly Bean succulent prefers bright sunlight to thrive. Place it in the intense sun during the morning and in partial shade during the afternoon hours.

Propagation

Cute plant!

Ordered this with a couple other plants, all in good condition. The tips of some of this were a bit dark/brown, but I think that may have just been from no light during shipping. It’s bouncing back though, so it’s all fine. I can’t wait to arrange it with some taller plants!
