This is one of the larger headed species, solitary or clustering when the main head is about 5-7 cm in diameter and producing a patch over time. It distinguishes for the tubercles with chinned bases.
Flowers: Showy that cluster around the lower stem, funnel-shaped with short necks, about 3 cm tall, 3,5 cm in diameter, deep purple or magenta.
Blooming season: Spring.

Suborbital mentosa

I have been dealing with PlanetDesert for a while. All of the plates that I received are all in good condition. Except the Suborbital. It arrived with the dirt covering over most of the plant. I moved some of the dirt away from the top but I am not certain the plant will survie.

Plants that are in 3.5" pots and smaller will be shipped in its pot to prevent any damage to the roots. Any plant that is 6" and larger WILL NOT come with a pot as it will be shipped bare root.

Depending on the species and season, you will receive a very similar plant to the one in the picture. It may or may not be blooming at the time of your purchase.

We ship via USPS Priority Mail, and we calculate the shipping cost based on the weight and volume of your purchase. Care instructions are included in every package you order.
