Originated in Mexico, Gymnocactus ysabelae is beautiful and solitary cactus is almost completely concealed by spines and wool that requires full sun. The young spines have a yellow base, a white median zone and a dark brown tip. The spines then become white and translucent, which is a really beautiful way to add some contrast to your garden.
The flowers of this cactus are white with a greenish base, and it can be reproduced by seeds. Young seedlings are tiny and they need several years to reach adult size, and require very careful watering.
