This is an easy growing cactus that is native to Uruguay, this is one of the varieties of the wide ranging Parodia scopa and distinguished for its silvery spine stems. It produces very beautiful showy and glossy yellow flowers. And usually the blooming season is June-July . It is often a clustering perennial stemmed succulent, with stems almost hidden by soft tufts of bristly spines. Growing up to 45cm tall and 6-10 cm in diameter it sometimes has over 40 ribs that are low and obtuse.
