Mammillaria painteri belongs to the Cactaceae family. It is a winter-dormant cactus with its origin in Mexico. This tiny globular plant grows up to 6 cm in height and is known by its common name “Twin-spined cactus”. It is a relatively rapid-growing cactus that is virtually covered by spines. Twin spined cactus contains 20 thin white radial spines that resemble bristles and a few longer crimson center spines in the tiny areolas. Greenish-white or yellowish flowers appear in tiny clusters that look extremely pleasing to the eyes.
