This one of a kind Agave cultivar has a dramatic contrast of yellow stripes that run all the way down to the center of each of the leaves in between the gray green leaf margins. They can reach about 10" in diameter and will produce numerous offsets at the plant base producing dense clumps.

Flowering

This one-of-a-kind succulent blooms in the spring and produces golden-yellow flowers.

Watering and Feeding

For the first month or two, water Agave 'Rum Runner' every 4-5 days. Once they mature, water 2-3 times every month during the summer, or more if you stay in a low desert area. During the growing season, fertilize every two weeks with a standard liquid fertilizer.

Drought tolerant when established. Needs well-draining soil. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Protect from frost to prevent possible scarring. Water regularly in hot season.

Soil

This agave species grows best in well-drained soil. Use regular succulent or cacti potting soil.

Hardiness

It prefers warm spring and summer temperatures and belongs to the hardiness zone of 9b to 11b.

Light
