Also known as Tiburon barrel cactus or fish hook barrel cactus , this barrel shaped cactus is a solitary species. It grows up to 3.2 feet tall and about 35 cm in diameter. Its origin is the Mexico Gulf of California and Sonora. It can produce flowers of yellow with orange-yellow or reddish midribs. It typically blooms in the Spring time, blossoms of 6 cm long and 5 cm in diameter.
