Gymnocalycium mihanovichii hibotan is known by its common name “Moon Cactus”. The unique cacti lack chlorophyll and, therefore, are so intensely colored. Lack of chlorophyll means that the plant cannot survive independently and the mutant has to be grafted onto another cactus that appears in a globular shape on the top. Belonging to the Cactaceae family, this winter dormant succulent is characterized by a slow growth rate. Its origin can be traced to Argentina. Reluctant to full sun exposure, the cacti require deep shade to grow healthily to their full height of 3 to 5 cm.
