This cactus has light brown spikes and radial spines. When it blooms, it forms gorgeous bright magenta flowers with yellow in the middle. It is native to the Chihuahuan Desert in the northern part of Mexico and the southern united states.

Recommended temperature zone: Sunset: 9b-11, USDA: 8b-11

Frost tolerance: Hardy to 10°F (-12°C)

Minimum Avg. Temperature: 50°F (10°C)
