Aloe Nobilis Gold toothed aloe

(This plant comes in a 3.5" pot. You will receive a very similar plant to the one in the picture. It may or may not be blooming at the time of your purchase. The plant is shipped in its pot to prevent any damage to the roots).

The scientific name of the Gold Toothed Aloe is Aloe Nobilis. This plant is native to Africa, belongs to the  Asphodelaceae family and is broadly triangular with fleshy leaves. Its maximum height is 12 inches and it goes dormant in winter.

Growth Rate

This slow-growing plant takes about 3 to 4 years to reach maturity. If grown outdoors, it may take slightly less time because of the climatic conditions.

Reddish-orange spikes of tubular flowers bloom in the summer.  These attractive aloe nobilis flowers can grow on a stalk up to 2 feet tall and can last long.

Watering and Feeding

You should water the 'Gold-Tooth Aloe' 1-3 days a week. For the best aloe nobilis care, lookout for underwatering and overwatering. Only use liquid fertilizer in the spring and summer and avoid pouring it directly over the leaves.

A sandy or gravelly soil will do good for the golden tooth aloe. Adding sand and gravel to standard potting soil should provide the right environment for the plant.

The plant is suited for hardiness zones of 9b to 10b. Since the gold tooth aloe is not cold hardy, it can only withstand temperatures up to -6.7°C

Provide the succulent ample sunlight but also ensure it is kept in partial shade. Direct sunlight can lead to leaves turning orange or the plant developing burn marks.

Aloe Nobilis propagation can be done through seeds, leaf cuttings, and offsets. The succulent produce many offsets that appear at its base.

Sometimes, the tops of the leaves can often become brown and start to die. Since this is a normal part of the growing process, all you have to do is remove the died-out brown tips.
